NVIDIA Shield Portable and Shield Android TV receiving updates

NVIDIA today has announced a pair of updates for two of its Shield devices. The company’s Shield Portable and Shield Android TV are both receiving updates today, the latter of which receiving the more significant changes.

First off, the Shield Portable is receiving upgrade 106 which brings a handful of small changes. For one, the NVIDIA button now takes you to the Shield Hub as opposed to activating voice search. The Start/Play button functionality has also been changed to behave the same way as it did under KitKat. The update also includes your standard bug fixes and security improvements.

Shield Android TV is receiving a more significant update that comes as upgrade 1.4. The update adds a variety of new apps including FXNow, WWE Network, Fox Sports Go, CBS Sports, CBS News, and The Weather Network. There are also a plethora of new games that come with upgrade 1.4, including This War of Mine, Windward, Xenowerk, Flyhunter Origins, Twin Runners 2, and Pure Pool.
