CyanogenMod now supports Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X with CM13 nightlies

CyanogenMod fans will be pleased to know the team’s latest CM13 nightly builds now support the two latest and greatest pure Android smartphones. CM13 test builds for the Nexus 6P and Nexus 5X both landed on CyanogenMod’s downloads page just a short while ago…

The nightlies for Nexus 6P and 5X — codenamed ‘angler’ and ‘bullhead’ — come just 24 hours after CyanogenMod pushed builds out to handful of older generation Android phones like the Moto X from last year, the OnePlus One and a few others. In its announcement post with those builds, the team stated that the list of supported devices would grow rapidly, and it certainly seems like it’s sticking to its word.

One key addition with the CM13 nightly for the new Nexii is the inclusion of native Wi-Fi calling, which will come as welcome news to T-Mobile customers who want to make use of one of their carrier’s most loved features.

As with any nightly (or beta) build, installing it comes with its own risks. Especially when it’s one of the first builds, like this one. CyanogenMod is known to push out nightly builds in their early development, and that can often lead to some features on your smartphone not working as they should. So if you’re happy to wait until January-ish, we’d advise that you just sit tight before installing the latest version of CM13 on to your brand new Nexus.

If you know what you’re doing, and are perfectly happy with the risks involved in downloading and installing a fresh nightly build, you can grab one by heading over to CyanogenMod’s downloads page.
