For safety reasons, Android Auto’s third-party apps are limited to those that playback media from your phone. At that, they share a pretty consistent user interface. Yesterday, an update to the Audible app added an Android Auto component and other playback features.
Users with Android Auto will see Audible in their list of media apps. The interface is the same as every other music app, but with the next/backwards buttons replaced by fast forward and reverse. Users have the option to play different audiobooks in their library.
The update also allows users to adjust the playback speed of what they are listening to, with increments between 0.5x and 3x. Other updates include a store that provides easier access to top lists, pre-orders, and your wish list. The update is available now from the Play Store and the full changelog is below:
