Samsung Galaxy S7 teased (but maybe not seen) in The Next Galaxy video promo

Samsung’s official Indonesian channel has published a teaser on YouTube to get us ready for the next Galaxy devices, which are due to be unveiled on Sunday at MWC in Barcelona. With the video having only been posted recently, it’s hard to imagine Samsung is hinting at an already-released devices in its promo, and yet, all devices we see appear to be current generation devices. In other words, it’s a teaser without a teaser. We think…

Although we’re fairly certain the new device isn’t in the video, it is hard to be 100% sure. After all, the only images we’ve seen of the gray and gold models are press renders, which don’t show how reflective or metallic the finish may be in the final product. What’s more, we know the S7 and S7 Edge will look very similar to the current generation.

In my opinion, what we’re looking at here is just a promotional video featuring the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, which launched last year, being used in a video to get us ready for the next Galaxy S. The video is hidden, not made public, suggesting there’s at least an element of secrecy about it. But we don’t think that Samsung would have even published it as hidden if it revealed anything specific about the Galaxy S7.

The device only makes a few short appearances during the video, you can see those below. In them, the fast charging wireless charger is featured, as is the Samsung fitness tracking app and Gear S2 smartwatch. The one shot which got us doubting ourselves is the image of the phone being used, completely exposed under heavy rain. As far as we’re aware, the S6 Edge/plus isn’t officially waterproof or water resistant. It’s not a feature listed Samsung’s technical specifications. Meanwhile, the S7 and S7 Edge are rumored to be waterproofed.
