Sony’s over-specced Xperia Z5 Premium now comes in pink

While the biggest smartphone news of the day belongs to the HTC 10, Sony has announced that the over-specced Xperia Z5 Premium will now come in pink. Nothing has changed internally and the device will be available in select countries starting in May.

As the Xperia Z5 received its pink variant in January, one would assume the process of making the Z5 Premium in that color would be quite straightforward. However, the company’s blog post notes that the color was specifically adapted to the Z5 Premium’s materials and that the “result is a deeper, rich tone due to its glossy finish.”

Additionally, the end shade of pink is one of the “trend colours for 2015AW-2016SS, so Xperia customers can tailor their look and colour co-ordinate their phone and outfits with the latest fashion trends.” The Z5 Premium has a 5.5-inch 4K display powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor and 3GB of RAM. It has a hefty 3430 mAh battery rated for two days of usage and a 23MP camera.

Sony began rolling out Marshmallow to Xperia devices last month and in February began selling the Z5 and Z5 Compact in America. However, the device lack a fingerprint sensor for some unknown reason and is quite pricey.
