Following its first international expansion to Australia and New Zealand this May, YouTube Red is now available in Mexico (via Android Police). The service provides subscribers with ad-free YouTube, offline videos, and more for just 99 pesos a month.
The international rollout has been quite slow since launching last October in the US, with Google creating more original programming for Red subscribers. In addition to ad-free YouTube on desktop and mobile, background video, and the ability to download clips offline, Red also comes with a subscription to Google Play Music.
Throughout the year, YouTube has released a number of original shows and movies mostly created by popular YouTubers. Most recently, two new scripted comedy TV shows were released on a weekly basis. However, unlike Netflix and Amazon, YouTube Red Originals have yet to find critical acclaim.
While overseas, subscribers can continue watching Original Movies and Series. Unfortunately, other features like background play and offline videos are disabled. Ads will also reappear if users travel outside the four countries where the service is available.
At 99 pesos ($5.46) a month, YouTube Red is noticeably cheaper in Mexico when compared to the US, Australia, and New Zealand. Those in Mexico can head over to this site to sign up now.
