Yes, Super Mario Run will be coming to Android, Nintendo confirms

Shortly before announcing the iPhone 7, Apple revealed that Nintendo would be launching the first official Mario title on mobile. Since it was announced at an Apple event, many falsely assumed that it was an iOS exclusive. Nintendo rather said it would be on iOS first, and now, Kotaku has obtained confirmation from Nintendo that the game will indeed be coming to Android in the future…

Nintendo very simply stated that Super Mario Run would be coming to Android “at some point”, but further details were not provided.

We do intend to release the game on Android devices at some point in the future.

Regardless, it’s absolutely fantastic to have confirmation directly from Nintendo that this game is coming to Android — because, frankly, it looks like a lot of fun. To describe it quickly, Super Mario Run looks a lot like other mobile runner games, but with Mario. Nintendo has already posted a clip showing off gameplay, so check it out below while we can all wait (not very patiently) for Nintendo to release this on Android.
