Xiaomi starts selling its Mi Box Android TV for $69

We already knew pretty much everything there is to know about Xiaomi’s new Mi Box Android TV thanks in part to one Walmart that accidentally put it on the shelves early, but now you can officially get one for yourself. Announced back at Google I/O 2016, the Mi Box is now available on Xiaomi’s official website for — yes, you guessed it — $69…

The Mi Box features Android 6.0 Marshmallow, a quad-core ARM processor, 2GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable (via USB) storage, and an HDMI port which can output 4K video at 60FPS. The box will ship with a slim remote that includes a microphone for voice commands (a la Apple TV) and Xiaomi will also be selling a controller for gaming.

Just a few of weeks ago, a report suggested that the box would be coming at some point in October for a price less than $100, and indeed it has. On the box that we saw on the shelf at Walmart last week, we also learned — besides confirming the $69 price point — that the device comes with $76 in offers and a free HDMI cable. Not a bad deal for twice the price of a Chromecast.

You can grab the Mi Box on Xiaomi’s site right now, and it ships out on October 6th. Clearly, though, it’s going to be available at a wide variety of retailers soon, so you might be able to grab one quicker if you go check the shelves at your local brick-and-mortar stores (so far, we only know of Walmart).

One person who managed to nab one at Walmart a week early already made a hands-on video:
