Samsung’s high-end tablets are some of the best, and only good Android tablets on the market today. At MWC, we’re expecting Samsung to release the Galaxy Tab S3, as the company has teased a few times recently. Now, we’re getting a peek at what sets this device apart from its predecessor ─ the build.
As Samsung has been doing with its smartphones over the past couple of years, it appears the Galaxy Tab S3 is going to introduce a metal/glass build with a glass panel on the back of the device, at least according to photos from Taiwan’s NCC (via SamMobile). These images show us a device which, from the front, looks exactly like the Tab S2. Once again there are capacitive navigation buttons along the bottom bezel, as well as a physical home button/fingerprint reader.
Along with that, the display retains the same 4:3 aspect ratio, apparently with a similar size and resolution as noted in previous leaks. That display will also apparently work with Samsung’s famous S-Pen accessory, although that won’t dock in the tablet itself.
The biggest thing revealed in these photos, though, is that glass panel on the back. There are no guarantees here, but based on the reflections it appears we’re looking at a glass back here. While this will certainly add a premium feel to the tablet, you’ll certainly want to grip this one a little tighter…
Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Tab S3 on February 26th at MWC.
