Google is updating these ChromeOS devices with Chromebook Plus features

Following the launch of the first Chromebook Plus devices, Google will soon roll out an OS update to existing devices.

Chromebook Plus devices have to meet five minimum specifications:

  • CPU: Intel Core i3 12th Gen and above or AMD Ryzen 3 7000 series and above
  • RAM: 8+ GB
  • Storage: 128+ GB
  • Camera: 1080p+ with Temporal Noise Reduction
  • Display: Full HD IPS or better

Many mid-range to premium ChromeOS devices released in recent months easily surpass those specs, and Google is soon releasing an OS update that will add the “enhanced features found on Chromebook Plus devices in the coming weeks.” This includes Drive/Workspace File Sync, more Virtual Desks, dedicated video calling controls, Magic Eraser in Google Photos, and exclusive wallpapers.    

The Chromebook Plus OS update starts on October 17 with ChromeOS 118 on the following devices:
