Waze appears to be rolling out a long-awaited feature, as new alerts in the app give notice of upcoming speed bumps and particularly sharp turns.
An in-app notice appearing for some users over the past several days announces a new feature. Waze now offers alerts for “speed bumps, sharp curves, and more!” The alert, highlighted by SiLive, further explains:
You might get alerts to pay attention to the road, like before sharp curves.
These alerts don’t appear to be rolling out particularly widely, but there was another report earlier on this month as well. If you’re seeing the feature on your device, let us know in the comments below!
Waze has been working on support for speed bump alerts for a few years now, last mentioning the feature was coming on a forum post in early 2023, but it seems to only now be starting to go live.
Just prior to this, Waze also launched a redesigned incident reporting system, which better organizes the various reporting options such as road hazards, police activities, and more. That redesign appears to be widely available, with another in-app notice giving users a heads-up about the new look if they’ve not seen it already.
