Honor is reportedly working on its first foldable flip phone, with the key feature being a huge cover display.
Digital Chat Station on Weibo, a reliable source, says that Honor is working on a “V Flip,” presumably to be launch as Magic V Flip. The device will apparently feature a “super large” cover display that takes up the entire outside of the device.
Larger cover screens have been the biggest point of improvement for foldable flip phones over the past couple of years. Motorola and Samsung both pushed their respective designs forward with the Razr+ featuring a cover display that extended out even to the cameras, while Samsung took a safer approach that was still considerably larger than its past iterations.
Honor, according to this report, would have a cover display that beats out even those devices. The exact design isn’t known, though, beyond an image of a case portion that was shared in the Weibo post mentioned above.
As for when this device might launch, it’s not clear just yet. The Tech Outlook claims it might launch as soon as June, but it’s entirely likely it will be in China first.
