Following Pixel, Samsung adding battery cycle counts to some Galaxy S25 devices [Gallery]

Battery health is becoming a more crucial part of smartphones as support timelines grow, and one helpful point of reference is the ability to see how many cycles your battery has gone through. Google Pixel phones added a battery cycle count last year, and now Samsung is adding the same functionality to Galaxy S25.

The ability to count battery cycles offers a way to get some idea of how much your battery has been through over time, perhaps offering a better indication of your battery’s wear and tear than a simple battery health percentage is able to do.

Samsung is starting to add this data to One UI with the Galaxy S25 series.

In the Settings menu under battery settings, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 devices are able to report back their battery cycle counts alongside the device’s manufacture date and “first used” date. Our Damien Wilde spotted this on a unit in the UK, while @Razar_the_Raven noticed it on a Galaxy S25 Ultra apparently located in Romania.

However, the feature is missing on our US Galaxy S25 Ultra review unit.

While the “battery information” page is listed and shows battery level and capacity, it doesn’t show battery health or a cycle count. More than likely, it seems, this feature is present in some other regional variants of the S25 for now, and will be expanding over time.

Google added battery cycle counts to Pixel last year, and Apple also supports showing this information on iPhone. It’s unclear when this might be supported across all Galaxy S25 units, but it seems likely enough that it’ll come in time.

The Galaxy S25 series is now available for pre-order from Samsung.com, with up to $1,200 in savings, plus an additional $50 off when you click on our links and order within 30 minutes.
