UAG launches its first Android Find Hub tracker, priced at $45

Google’s Find Hub ecosystem is starting to get filled out as accessory brands like UAG are starting to release their first trackers compatible with the location database. UAG’s new tracker card for Android is already available for $45.

Android Find Hub isn’t as well-known as Apple’s Find My Device database, for understandable reasons. First, it’s much newer, with Google rebranding the tool in the middle of last year to what it is currently. One of the largest draws, however, is the device-agnostic nature of the feature since it’s baked into Android for all devices to use and populate location data with.

With more users looking for tracker options, it seems UAG is ready to throw its hat into the ring. The Metropolis Tracker Card is a 3 mm-thick IPX4 option for both iOS and Android users. As the name implies, UAG’s Android tracker looks like any other credit card and feels right at home in your wallet.

This is the first tracker from the company to be compatible with Google Find Hub, and it seems, the first one that doesn’t just hold an AirTag – even though they look pretty sick.

UAG says its battery can last up to 5 months, and it can be charged via Qi wireless chargers with an LED indicator to signify a full charge. The card also features a speaker for quick location alerts. That will come in handy because it does not support UWB, similar to many other options.

For iOS users, the card comes with proximity alerts that simply don’t work on the Google Find Hub side. Still, as with any other Find Hub-compatible card, it should be a good option. As trackers go, $45 seems a little steep, but it’s offset by the convenience of wireless charging.

The Metropolis Card Tracker from UAG is available now from the company’s website.
