Google Cast is a useful feature in part because of how widely adopted it has been, but it’s never been baked into Samsung TVs. That’s finally changing on newer models but, as it turns out, the feature is also expanding to some older models too.
Samsung’s 2026 batch of TVs will support Google Cast out of the box. That’s a fun new addition that was spotted on product listings by the folks over at SamMobile, and it comes as Google has been working to expand the functionality. Not too long ago, LG TVs started adding Cast, to the point where that’s a standard feature now.
While it’s common for Samsung to implement these new features on its latest releases, this isn’t an exclusive.
As it turns out, Samsung is also extending this to at least some of its older models. An owner of a Samsung S90D OLED TV notes that the latest update to One UI on Tizen adds support for Google Cast, something Samsung calls out in the startup changelog. Some other Samsung TV owners note that their TVs have had support for up to a few months now, so it’s not entirely clear just how long Samsung has been rolling this out.

Samsung’s latest TV releases are also now adding Google Photos integration, but it’s unclear if that will arrive on older models as well.
