Android 17’s new Easter egg is a quick game of connect-the-dots [Video]

Google has released Android 17 Beta 4, the last beta update ahead of the full release, and it introduces a fun new Easter egg that has a little connect-the-dots puzzle to start up a new animation.

Finally updating the last Easter egg that debuted with Android 14, Google’s new Easter egg in Android 17 opens up to a blank page showing a ring of diamond-shaped dots. You string these together in the world’s quickest game of connect-the-dots, at which point the Android 17 logo appears and moves forward through space.

Long-pressing on the logo starts vibrating the phone to mimic a rocket launch, at which point you’re thrown back into the same space game Google has had hidden in the past few Android versions.

It’s not a huge change, but it’s nice to finally see something new here.

Notably, the Android 17 logo is complete now, after Google quietly updated it in blog posts about the update over the course of the past few months.
