Chipolo has a big update on its Find Hub trackers for Android, with the battery life rating having just doubled because, as it turns out, they last longer than anyone expected.
In a post shared this week, Chipolo says that Chipolo Loop and Card both now have a 1-year battery life rating, up from 6 months. The company says that the initial estimate came from “energy consumption simulations” that are “designed to be conservative.” After “enough time” to use and test its trackers in real life, Chipolo says it can “confidently” say the battery lasts up to a year.
Long story short, we’ve had enough time to use and test both LOOP and CARD in real life. For over a year, our team has been using the two trackers on our personal keys, in our wallets, and relying on them in our daily routines.
We can now confidently say that the battery lasts up to 1 year on a single full charge, and in some cases even more.
The Chipolo Pop already promised 1-year battery life.
Chipolo Loop and Chipolo Card are both available for around $39.
You can also now pick up the Card inside of a new wallet collaboration from Secrid. The slim leather wallet features a pop-up card design with a special pocket to house the Chipolo Card that has a cut-out for the tracker’s speaker. There’s even a spot on the leather portion to tap on the Card’s button, with a double-press triggering an alert on your phone to help you find that device. The unfolded wallet has space for cash and is available in black or blue colors, the latter shipping in June and the former available today for $140.
