The latest generation of Motorola Razr flip phones has arrived, but you’d be forgiven thinking nothing has changed at first glance. These phones are very familiar, but all cost more than their predecessors.
Starting with the top-tier model, the Motorola Razr Ultra (2026) is, on paper, very similar to last year’s phone. It shares the same 7-inch inner display, 4-inch outer display, and Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. It also still has three 50MP cameras (main, ultrawide, selfie), 16GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, IP48 dust/water resistance, and even weighs the same 199g – the overall design is nearly identical in size, too.
So what’s changed?
The battery is about 7% larger at 5,000 mAh, and it comes in new “Orient Blue” and “Cocoa” colors.
That’s pretty much it.
Also it now starts at $1,499, up from the original Razr Ultra’s $1,299 price tag that we already felt was a pretty hard sell.

That story continues through the rest of the lineup.

The Razr+ (2026) sits in the middle at $1,099, up from $999, and has the same specs – for the third year in a row. That’s a 6.9-inch inner display, 4-inch outer display, Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and that IP48 rating. It does get a nice battery boost from 4,000 mAh to 4,500 mAh, and comes only in a green “Mountain View” color.

At the bottom is the Motorola Razr (2026), which sees the biggest upgrades. A new MediaTek Dimensity 7450X chipset, 8GB of RAM with 128GB of storage, a 4,800 mAh battery (up from 4,500 mAh), and a new camera setup. There are two 50MP cameras on the outside for main and ultrawide shots, with a 32MP selfie camera. The previous base model had a 13MP ultrawide shooter instead. It still has that smaller 3.6-inch outer display, but with the same 6.9-inch inner panel which now supports 120Hz after the past couple generations were limited to 90Hz.

This one also comes in the most colors – “Hematite,” “Violet Ice,” “Sporting Green,” and “Bright White.”
The base Razr is also getting a price hike, though, from $699 to $799.

All three devices ship with Android 16 and go on sale on May 21 – pre-orders open on May 14.
Interestingly, the Razr Ultra (2026) doesn’t seem to be getting a carrier release, instead only being sold unlocked through Motorola.com, Best Buy, and Amazon. Razr+ (2026) is coming to AT&T in May and T-Mobile sometime later, while the base Razr (2026) will launch at Boost Mobile, Spectrum Mobile, Verizon, Visible, Xfinity Mobile, Consumer Cellular, Google Fi Wireless, and Cox Mobile in May with T-Mobile and Cricket coming later on.
Some other noteworthy updates include Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 for the Ultra’s outer display – Victus on the Razr+ and Razr – a new “rotate to zoom” gesture for camcorder mode, an AI shutter for group shots, Ultra HDR in Instagram, and a new “Google Photos Wardrobe” feature.
What do you think of the new Razr lineup?
