Gemini Intelligence makes brief Pixel 10 series appearance on Android 17 QPR1 Beta

Google today is rolling out Android 17 QPR1 Beta 5, and it’s mainly just a bug fixer except for the inclusion of the Gemini Intelligence logo.

On the Pixel 10 Pro Fold, there is a new boot screen that features the Gemini Intelligence logo at the bottom. Just above it, Google has updated the ‘G’ to the gradient version. It only appears on the outer display and not the internal screen.

The 2025 foldable is the only device with this Gemini Intelligence branding.

Installing Beta 5 on the Pixel 10 or Pixel 10 Pro did not yield similar results. (It’s also not on the Pixel 10a, though that isn’t surprising.)

Meanwhile, none of the actual Gemini Intelligence features — Create My Widget, Gboard Rambler, expanded app automation, etc. — are present in this beta.

This particular appearance is most likely an oversight on Google’s part, but it remains to be seen if Gemini Intelligence will undergo any beta testing before the launch this summer on Pixel and Samsung devices.
