Meta Glasses ditch the Ray-Ban name for a lower price, three styles now available

As the smart glasses era gets its proper start, Meta is expanding on its offering with a new lineup of “Meta Glasses” that ditch Ray-Ban branding and designs in pursuit of a more affordable price tag.

Available now, the new lineup of “Meta Glasses” includes three styles – “Adventurer,” “Fury,” and “Starfire.” That last one is designed in collaboration with Kylie Jenner and is the most expensive of the bunch. Where “Adventure” and “Fury” both start at $299, “Starfire” is $399.

Still, they’re cheaper than Meta’s second-gen Ray-Ban glasses, costing the same as the first-gen models are still sold for. That’s all while offering specs and performance closer to the second-gen series.

All three pack 8 hours of battery life, an additional 40 hours in the charging case, and add some perks that Ray-Ban models lack such as adjustable temple tips and over-extension hinges. But you get the same 12MP camera, 100-degree FOV, and ability to record video at 1080p/60fps or 3k/30fps.

The “Meta Glasses” also add a customizable “action button” not found on the Ray-Ban series.

This comes as Meta braces for new entrants to the market, including the first Android XR audio glasses that were announced in May.
