Google temporarily offers open Pixel Care+ enrollment for Pixel 9 and 10

Google today announced a limited-time Pixel Care+ open enrollment period for existing Pixel 9 and 10 owners.

Available in the US, UK, and Japan, Pixel Care+ includes:

  • Unlimited accidental damage from drops, cracks, and spills
  • $0 repairs for:
    • Front screen and back glass 
    • Batteries that “retain less than 80% of original charge capacity” (other exclusions apply)
  • “Unlimited $0 claims for post-warranty malfunctions”
  • “Replacement devices typically ship the next day, subject to availability”
  • “Priority support from Pixel experts”

Normally, you have to add Pixel Care+ within 60 days of device purchase, but Google is now offering an open enrollment period until August 2 for the following phones:

  • Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10a
  • Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9a

The Pixel 9 and 10 Pro Fold are excluded. You must confirm that phones do “not have any of the following pre-existing issues”:

  • Screen or back glass damage: Any cracks or shattered glass.
  • Liquid damage: Any signs of internal moisture or liquid-related malfunctions.
  • Mechanical or electrical failure: Any pre-existing issues with buttons, charging ports, or internal components.
  • Battery degradation: While Pixel Care+ covers battery replacements for batteries that retain less than 80% capacity, the battery must not be currently swollen or causing device failure at the time of enrollment.

Meanwhile: “Enrollment is not available for devices previously enrolled in a Pixel Care+, Preferred Care, or Google Fi Device Protection plan.”

Pixel Care+ offers monthly and 2-year plans. For the Pixel 10 Pro, it’s $13 per month or $239 for two years. You can sign up via the Google Store.
