Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 is a complete redesign with a new, wider form factor that’s going to be fascinating to see in real life. And, would you look at that, there’s the Galaxy Z Fold 8, in real life.
Courtesy of some videos shared on social media by BTS member J-Hope, we’ve got a look at the Galaxy Z Fold 8 (wide) in its purple color. As Samsung partners closely with BTS, this is a unit Samsung presumably provided as a brand deal, but that just slipped out of the gate a little bit early.
In the videos, compiled on Twitter/X, we can see the Galaxy Z Fold 8 from the back and the front, with its short and stout form factor on full display. It looks positively tiny compared to most modern smartphones in the hand, which is pretty refreshing to see. Rumor has it the outer display measures a mere 5.5 inches across.

Sadly, these videos don’t show the device unfolded, but it looks downright cute when closed, right?
What do you think of the new form factor?
Samsung is set to officially unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8 on July 22 alongside an “Ultra” variant, the Flip 8, and new smartwatches.
