Has Google Chrome been randomly signing you out of your accounts? [Poll]

A weird issue floating around Google Chrome users for the past couple of months randomly signs users out of their accounts – have you run into this problem?

Your Google account is a key to huge swathes of the web, so getting signed out is more than a bit annoying. Within Google Chrome, that sign-in also enables sync for history, bookmarks, and more.

So it’s not all that surprising that a bug causing users to be signed out of their Google accounts is making some noise among Chrome users. Two members of the 9to5Google team have noticed this issue pop up on our own machines, and we’re far from alone. Over the past month especially, there have been lots of scattered reports of this behavior floating around the web.

There’s no clear rhyme or reason to this. One user says it happens “every few hours,” another “weekly.” In my case, it seems to happen whenever I have more than three Google accounts signed into the same Chrome profile. It only happens on the desktop browser, with mobile apps not affected.

Whatever the cause, it’s obviously annoying!

While there have been plenty of reports, they’re still scattered and, as far as we can tell, Google hasn’t formally acknowledged the issue. But we’re curious – have you been running into this problem? Vote in the poll below and leave a comment with your experience. Hopefully, Google can figure out what’s going on!
