NBC raises Peacock’s price for the fourth year in a row

NBC Universal has announced that Peacock will get yet another price hike, the fourth time in the platform’s history, which also now makes for a price hike in each of the past four years.

Peacock, launched in 2020, will now cost $12.99/month for its individual Premium plan, with its Premium Plus going up to $19.99/month as detailed by Variety. The full list of price changes follows:

  • Peacock Select (no movies, live sports, originals): $7.99 > $8.99/month – $1 more
  • Peacock Premium: $10.99 > $12.99/month – $2 more
  • Peacock Premium Plus: $16.99 > $19.99/month – $3 more

The new prices kick in immediately for new subscribers and will apply to existing customers starting with their next billing period (on or after September 17). This comes as NBC announced “Peacock Membership Awards” less than 24 hours ago, with discounts on NBC products, an Instacart+ subscription (for one year), and a Pizza Hut code, among other upcoming rewards. The rewards are currently in a beta rollout, and NBC made no mention of the price hikes in the announcement.

This is the fourth year in a row that Peacock has raised its pricing, up from just $4.99/month in 2023. The prior three price hikes include:

  • August 2023: $5.99 Premium, $11.99 Premium Plus
  • July 2024: $7.99 Premium, $13.99 Premium Plus
  • July 2025: $10.99 Premium, $16.99 Premium Plus

Peacock isn’t alone, of course, as all streaming services continue to raise prices at effectively every turn. Other recent hikes include Apple TV+ and Netflix.

Meanwhile, Peacock is teaming up with YouTube in a deal that will bundle the two premium services together.
