Pixel Thermometer gets new gradient icon on its way out

After three generations, Google dropped the built-in thermometer from the Pixel 11 Pro. However, like other first-party apps, the Pixel Thermometer app has a new icon.

The basic design is unchanged, but the thermometer is now blue instead of white, while the mercury uses a darker shade of blue and the background is now white.

There are no obvious changes inside the app, and that isn’t particularly surprising. Google just added the new icon for Pixel consistency, with this probably being the last major update to Thermometer outside of bug fixes. Hardware support will presumably be available for years to come.

Google, unfortunately, never added a Quick Settings Tile for Pixel Thermometer, but access from the Google Health app is appreciated.

This year’s HiLight replacement does have the upside of being included on the Pro Fold model.

Version 1.0.947990598 of Pixel Thermometer is rolling out via the Play Store. It’s not yet widely available.
