Google is continuing its work to make links more prominent in AI Mode and AI Overviews.
Moving forward, inline links will appear “higher up in responses more frequently.” Google is also making the links that appear at the end of some AI responses “more engaging and prominent.” The “Dive Deeper” section will feature image thumbnails and have a “more clickable design.”

Elsewhere, prominent carousels for timely articles and Preferred Sources are coming to additional locations and languages around the world after launching earlier this year. Usage of the customization feature has grown 7x since then.
AI Search is testing a new section at the top of AI responses for sites that are the “one or two official places on the web to complete a specific task or get the exact info you need.” Google will also add “context about why each link is useful.”
Another test is for “clickable creator and publisher names on video results.” This will take you to Search profiles, which are available for eligible creators and publishers.
These profiles give you a quick way to learn about creators and their broader work, giving you even more context.
