Google today announced a preview of a redesigned Google Contacts experience for the web that it says “makes it easier to keep track of the people you know and get the info you need, fast.”
Some of the new features include the ability to quickly get rid of duplicates, automatically updating contacts, and recent email/event details right in Contacts. Those are in addition to a brand new Material Design-inspired UI.
As the people you know change jobs, cities, and names, it can be tough to stay up to date with their latest information. The new Contacts ensures that the info you see is still accurate and ready to use by blending your contact’s Google profile information with the stuff you already have.
The redesigned Contacts app, which Gmail and other Google services tap into for contact information, is available today at contacts.google.com/preview.

Users can also access the preview through Gmail in the coming weeks. Google said it’s working on brining the new experience to Apps customers in the future.
