UK Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge owners now receiving Android Marshmallow beta

It’s been a long time coming for owners of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge, but Samsung is now rolling out a beta of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Samsung recently started looking for testers of the new software, and now it appears that owners of Samsung’s latest flagship S-series phones in the UK (but only those that opted in to the program, of course), are now getting the beta firmware…

The update of course brings all of the great new features from Google’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow, but it’s worth noting that this update skins the OS with TouchWiz as has been the case with all Galaxy S software. As noted by SamMobile (which we also thank for the gallery of images you can find below), the update packs new animations, “Pro mode” in the camera app, the ability to save images in RAW, new settings, the well-known Android 6.0 features like Now on Tap, and more.

As you can see, TouchWiz has been cleaned up even more with this release. Samsung was praised with the release of TouchWiz based on Lollipop, because the Korean company’s skin long had a reputation of having a dated and ugly appearance. With the launch of the S6 and S6 Edge, however, Samsung fixed many of those problems and TouchWiz, some argue, is now one of the better-looking skins of Android on the market.
