Galaxy Tab 10.1 gets 4G pre-order and “Tabuntu”

You’re probably wondering what “Tabuntu” is, right? The acronym pretty much says it all: It’s a port of Ubuntu operating system for Samsung’s Galaxy Tab tablet. It runs quite nice (see the below video), but here’s a shocker: Tabuntu actually executes on top of Android OS which is running Linux in the background and the user interface via a virtual machine client (eat that, Apple).

And if you can’t wait to get your hands on the Galaxy Tab 10.1, Verizon Wireless today announced that it is accepting pre-orders for both 3G and 4G versions starting at $529.99 for the 16GB version or a hundred more for the 32GB version, both after a new activation on a Mobile Broadband plan.
