Ahead of schedule, Asus has just revealed that its Zenfone 12 Ultra is set to be announced on February 6.
Asus, while not a huge name in Android, is usually among the first wave of big releases each year with its Zenfone lineup. Last year’s Zenfone 11 Ultra debuted in March, but for 2025, Asus is moving up over a month with a launch event officially scheduled for February 6 as confirmed on Twitter/X.
While we don’t know much about the device itself, it’s easy to assume that it’ll deliver Qualcomm’s latest chipset, another large display, and a price tag that undercuts a lot of the competition. Likely, it’ll be based heavily on the ROG Phone 9 series that debuted in November 2024.
And, as a totally unexpected and earth-shattering reveal, Asus is teasing that the Zenfone 12 Ultra will be focusing in large part on AI features. Specifically, Asus points to “a new era of mobile photography excellence” with the help of AI, and highlights “AI Snap” which appears to be an AI-assisted locked autofocus.
