Gemini app greeting goes blue with new icon

With the new Gemini icon widely rolled out on mobile, Google is continuing to remove the old blue-purple gradient across the app with a new greeting.

The “Hello, [name]” greeting is now a solid blue instead of going from blue-purple-reddish.  It reflects how light blue is the predominant color in the new sparkle, and stands out more.

We’re seeing this Gemini blue greeting change with the latest Google app beta (version 16.26) on Android. Force stop if you’re not seeing it yet.

However, that latest beta release has yet to update the Gemini logo in Android’s Recents menu. Google has yet to refresh gemini.google.com favicon, or the icon that appears inside conversations after Gemini responds.

In other Google AI-related changes, NotebookLM has been introduced to the web app launcher. It joins recent additions like YouTube Music and Google Wallet.
