Instagram app launches on Google TV with Reels on the big screen [Gallery]

Following an initial debut on Amazon Fire TV, Instagram has just launched an app focused on Reels for Google TV users.

Announced by Instagram head Adam Mosseri on Threads, Instagram for TV is now available on Google TV. This is a US-exclusive, still, and works just like the Fire TV app that was announced last year. The whole focus is on Reels, with multi-account support available too.

The Instagram app is available for Google TV via the Play Store now, freely available for download for anyone who wishes to install it. The app even supports sign-in without a password by approving sign-in through a phone connected to the same network.

Introducing Instagram for TV, bringing Reels from your favorite creators to the big screen. Watch, laugh, and enjoy together with friends and family from the comfort of your couch.

With Instagram for TV, you can:

  • Watch Reels with others on the big screen, the easiest way to enjoy content together.
  • Explore channels full of what you like, from music and sports highlights to travel and trending moments.
  • See comments and reactions on-screen, paired with full sound for a more social experience.
  • Enjoy a continuous stream of Reels from creators you follow and new content you’ll love.
