Samsung has released a new magnetic Qi2 power bank for its Galaxy S26 series, but as per usual, you need a case to use it.
The Galaxy S26 series continues to stubbornly avoid support for Qi2 magnets, according to Samsung for the sake of being thinner. This is a problem for modern charging as, without a case, Samsung’s latest flagships would struggle to be used with even Samsung’s first-party charging accessories like the 25W charging puck released alongside the new phones (pictured above).
As if to further solidify the point, the new “Magnet Wireless Battery Pack,” is a $65 power bank that can’t be used on the Galaxy S26 series without a case on the phone.
The 5,000 mAh battery bank is Qi2 certified and features wireless charging speeds up to 15W (or 25W through the USB-C port) and also has a built-in kickstand. It also comes with the benefit of actually fitting on the phone, as Samsung’s extended camera bump on the Galaxy S26 series (and other recent Galaxy devices) makes most magnetic accessories fit poorly. This one is designed with a cutout around the magnets which, in turn, leaves plenty of room for the camera module.
But, at the same time, the cameras aren’t really an issue if you’re using a magnetic case which, again, you need to use anyway as the Galaxy S26 doesn’t have Qi2 magnets built in.

Why does it matter? Go ask 100 people if they use a phone case and 99 will say yes. Every phone case on the market has it.
It's funny how apple is allowed to avoid tons of useful features for years cause they are too much money yet Samsung omits one useless feature (because 99% of people will have it in their case) and it's a huge deal? Apple is literally 5-10 years late with all technology, which is fine but no one complains.
Samsung’s magnetic power bank is now listed on the company’s online store for $65, but it’s not shipping in the US just yet. With everything in mind, though, there are some much better alternatives the 9to5Google team would recommend, including:

The release of a first-party magnetic power bank, alongside other recent releases in car chargers and more, continues to show that Samsung understands the utility of these accessories and that consumers want them, yet we’re still just sitting and waiting for proper Qi2 support in Galaxy devices.
