Pixel Watch 1 not losing Google Health sleep, workout support

On Tuesday, Pixel Watch 1 owners encountered a Google Health error message about needing to update their wearable. Google has confirmed that this was a bug and that the original device remains supported.

The following error message appeared for some Pixel Watch 1 owners in the Google Health app:

Update your watch to keep using Google Health

Your watch is running an older version of Wear OS and will soon stop syncing sleep and workout data with Google Health. Update your watch to the latest version to keep tracking your health.

Google rolled out the last Pixel Watch 1 update in October 2025. This was Wear OS 5.1 based on Android 15 with a June 5, 2025 security patch.

During its lifetime, the wearable ran Wear OS 3.5 (Android 11), Wear OS 4 (Android 13), Wear OS 5 (Android 14), and Wear OS 5.1 (Android 15). The Pixel Watch was guaranteed three years of updates.

In a forum post this afternoon, Google said the “Pixel Watch 1 remains fully supported” and that there was a “bug where some users received this card incorrectly.”
