Following an appearance at IFA 2026 last week, Xiaomi has posted the full details of its new wide Fold, while it’s also been directly compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
Pre-orders for the Xiaomi 18 Fold are now open in China and, with that, a full breakdown of the foldable’s specs. This includes a 5.38-inch outer display, 7.58-inch inner display, as well as the Xiaomi XRing O3 chipset that was previously announced. But, going further down the list, there are some other powerful specs on offer.
A 6,000 mAh battery (with 67W wired charging/50W wireless) powers the show, way bigger than the 4,800 mAh battery in Samsung’s device. That’s despite a clear difference in size. As The Verge shows in a hands-on, Samsung’s wide foldable is both taller and narrower than Xiaomi’s when folded. The same article calls out that Xiaomi’s device has almost the exact aspect ratio as an IMAX display.
Xiaomi’s listing further details the dimensions at 117.8 x 83.6 x 10.68mm when the foldable is closed, opening up to 163.8mm wide and 5.02mm thick when unfolded. Storage and memory options range from 12GB + 256GB up to 16GB + 1TB.
The triple camera array around back includes a 200MP main sensor, 50MP 3.5x telephoto, and a 50MP ultrawide too.
Colors include “Warm Gold,” “White,” “Black,” and “Nishino Red” (translated).
There’s also a light pink “Ceramic” model.
The Xiaomi 18 Fold is available for purchase now in China starting at ¥10,999. Directly converted, that’s just shy of $1,640 USD. It’s still unclear if or when this foldable might make its way to global markets, but it’s certainly an intriguing release.
