Google today announced the latest expansion of its 3D meeting booths, including a partnership that brings Google Beam to co-working spaces in the US.
Since last year’s launch and rename from Project Starline, Google Beam has only been available to large companies. Early partners include Bain & Company, Netflix, and Capital Group. Internally, Google has expanded Beam deployment for its employees.
Over an eight-week internal study, Google teams using Beam felt 50% more connected to one another, found it 33% easier to ensure their feedback was clearly understood, and saw a 21% drop in the need for follow-up meetings.
Google is now launching the first ever “Beam extended network.” Industrious is a “global operator of premium flexible workspaces worldwide.”
You will soon be able to visit locations in Atlanta, Chicago, New York City, and Palo Alto to book and use the HP Dimension unit, which supports Google Meet and Zoom.
In piloting this year, Google found that distributed teams are using Beam for “manager check-ins, interviews, and client consultations.” Google Beam availability at Industrious locations starts this October.
Meanwhile, Google is now shipping Beam units to customers in the US, Canada, UK, France, Germany, and Japan. This expansion is in partnership with 18 channel partners.
