Samsung starts rolling out Android 17 for Galaxy S24 and older foldables

As its rollout expands, Samsung is now bringing its Android 17-based One UI 9 update to the Galaxy S24 series as well as older foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold 6.

One UI 9 started its rollout on Galaxy S26 in September and has been rolling out fairly rapidly to other models in the time since to devices such as Galaxy Z Fold 7 and the Galaxy S25 series.

Now, the Android 17-based update is rolling out to another older generation.

SamMobile notes that One UI 9 is now rolling out to the Galaxy S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra in South Korea. As per usual, it’s showing up first for users who were in the beta program already. For those users, it weighs in at around 500MB. The same is happening with Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 in South Korea.

This is just the start of the rollout, but it’s a sign that a broader rollout is right around the corner. In the days to come, we’re likely to see a wider rollout both in new regions and to users who weren’t already in the beta program.
