iPhone Duo has a bigger battery than Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Pixel 11 Pro Fold

Apple’s iPhone Duo may be thicker and heavier than most Android foldables, but it makes use of that space with a bigger battery compared to its main competitors, with a bigger battery than both the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and PIxel 11 Pro Fold.

The iPhone Duo measures in at 254g and is 11.3mm thick when closed. That’s considerably heavier and a fair bit thicker than virtually every other Android foldable on the market today, as we previously discussed.

But Apple isn’t wasting that space.

Despite the short and stout footprint of the iPhone Duo, the device is packing a 4,883 mAh battery. That’s the rated capacity as confirmed on an EU energy label, that is, as Apple almost never publicly confirms the battery capacity of iPhones. MacRumors did find the same info on Apple’s own documentation of the same EU energy label.

That’s not exactly a huge number in the foldable space, but it’s bigger than the iPhone Duo’s main competitor offers. Citing the same EU data, here’s how Samsung and Google compared:

Ouch.

Neither the Fold 8 nor the Pixel 11 Pro Fold have particularly bad battery life, but Apple having a bigger battery along with the host of other reasons that iPhone users are in Apple’s ecosystem makes it harder to convince anyone to look at Samsung or Google’s devices – the main competitors in the US – as a complete alternative to the Duo.

What do you think?

iPhone Duo pre-orders are already delayed well into 2027.
