New for Moto 360: Metal, slim, and interchangeable accessory bands, new watch faces & fitness features

Motorola just announced additional hardware options and software features for its Moto 360 smart watch including new metal, slim and interchangeable watch bands.

Motorola will be offering Moto 360 with new “aircraft-grade stainless steel” bands that come in light and dark metal color options. These are in addition to the two leather band options that were previously available when ordering the device. Ordering the Moto 360 with a new stainless steel band will run you $299, slightly higher than the $249 price point of the current models with leather straps.

It’s also planning on offering new slimmer bands during the upcoming holiday “for smaller wrists or people who want a different look.” Those will be available in a light metal color option for the same $299 and a champagne gold color for a slightly higher $329 price tag.

As for interchangeable band accessories for current Moto 360 owners, Motorola will be offering stone, black and cognac leather bands as well as the light and dark color stainless steel options mentioned above. Motorola only shared the image above of the light and dark color stainless steel bands, but the slim champagne band was previously leaked on Amazon.

Also announced today is new watch face and wellness features rolling out over the next few days:

Choose from new watch face designs or even create your own. The new My Design watch face option allows you to customize everything from the background image to the style of the tick marks and watch hands. We’ve also added the watch face created by the winner of our Moto 360 Design Face-Off…. Moto 360 can help you make the most of every day. That’s why we’re bringing you Moto Body, an experience designed to inspire a healthier lifestyle. You can track your steps, distance, heart rate and calories.

Motorola has since pulled its blog post, so it’s unclear when exactly the new band options will be available.
