When it showed off its shiny new Google Calendar app earlier this month alongside the first wave of Android 5.0 Lollipop devices, the company said it would arrive in the “coming weeks.” Today Google confirmed the app is now available through Google Play for all Android 4.1+ devices.
Google is highlighting a few of the app’s new features in addition to inspiration from Material design including events from Gmail, suggestions that learn from your habits over time with a new feature called “Assists”, and a brand new schedule view. “Calendar’s new Schedule view includes photos and maps of the places you’re going, cityscapes of travel destinations, and illustrations of everyday events like dinner, drinks and yoga. These images will bring a little extra beauty to your day, and make it easy to see what’s going on at a glance—perfect for when you’re checking in from your phone or tablet.”
Google previously said it’s working to bring the new app to iPhone users as well.
The new Google Calendar app is available for free on Google Play now.
