Not much more than a month after inking a $300 million partnership with Beats by Dr. Dre, HTC has today announced the HTC Sensation XE, their first device that integrates the “Beats Audio experience”.

The Sensation XE packs in Beats audio technology, a combination of software and hardware, that apparently delivers “studio quality audio” when used with the included Beats in-ear headphones. Using the headphones will run all audio through the “bespoke Beats by Dr. Dre sound profile” delivering crisper vocals and fuller bass for a “level of clarity and range offering audio the way the artist intended it to be heard”.

From the press release:

“Audio is a crucial part of any consumer’s mobile experience and we are continually pushing the audio boundaries to encompass not only improved voice but music, movies and games,” said Jason Mackenzie, president of global sales and marketing, HTC Corporation. “The HTC Sensation XE offers a truly incredible experience that demonstrates our commitment to place consumers at the center of their mobile worlds.”

Apart from audio the XE sports some pretty decent specs including a 1.5GHz dual core processor, 4.3-inch qHD display, front-facing VGA camera, 8-megapixel main camera, and a 1,730mAh battery. While it only offers about 1 GB of internal storage, it ships with either an 8 or 16GB microSD.

The HTC Sensation XE is expected to hit the European market sometime by the end of the month, no word on pricing or when it might be coming stateside, however. Full press below, if you’re interested.

wait a sec.. you have to use the headphones to get the “studio quality audio” sound??
you would think they would build them in to the phone…

so your paying "extra" for a phone with newer software and a pair of headphones to get the “studio quality audio”
that the phone cant even deliver on its own…

I already have the sensation and you are right its a beautiful phone, and it streams great also. now that these are coming out I , I wasted my money. Way to screw all of your fans over HTC. You are becoming apple. Now you are going to create this much better version of the same phone only a few months after the original came out and screw me over in the process. That's the last time I trust a company enough to buy their product upon launch. I was even stupid enough to support HTC from the beginning when they were nothing. Lesson learned my friends, lesson learned.

Wow, the original Sensation was a sleek phone, but now that I’ve seen the Sensation XE, I think I want one even more! I like how it has a faster processor, a sleeker look, and has Beats! That has to be the best feature on this. It says that when you plug in the headphones, the Beats are activated. That would make it great for movies and shows. Also, because the phone has 4G, it should be able to stream anything quickly. I use the DISH Remote Access app. I use this app on my Galaxy S and it is awesome. It lets me stream live TV from my 922 SlingLoaded receiver to my phone anywhere I am! As a customer and employee of DISH Network, I have been using this app for a long time, and once the new Sensation XE comes out, it will be awesome on it!
