Motorola has officially unveiled the Moto E. If you thought the Moto G was the company’s only budget smartphone, think again. The Moto E is redefining the industry with a launch price of only $129 in the US and £89 in the UK.

The Moto E may not be packed with the best specifications on the block, but it will certainly get the job done. Especially for the money. As far as specifications go, the Moto E has a 4.3-inch display covered by Gorilla Glass with a resolution of 960×540 (256ppi), 1.2Ghz dual-core Snapdragon processor, Adreno 302 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage, a 1,980mAh battery, and runs Android 4.4.2.

Other features include a 5MP rear facing camera, a micro SD card slot that supports up to 32GB, and a built-in FM radio tuner. This budget friendly smartphone is available starting today in the US and later this week in the UK. Further availability has not been announced yet, but the Moto E will be available in more than 40 countries through over 80 carrier partners “over the next few weeks.” Check out Motorola’s video below.

From Motorola’s blog:

Built to last
Moto E has a high-resolution 4.3” display with 256ppi, the sharpest in its class. Everything from photos to videos to web pages comes to life in brilliant detail. Plus, Corning® Gorilla® Glass and a water-resistant splash guard help protect it for lasting durability.

Power to last
With a long-lasting 1980 mAh battery you can go all day without plugging in.1 So you can think about everything you want to do, not how much time you have to do it.

Software to last
Moto E runs Android™ 4.4.2, KitKat®, the latest version of the world’s most popular mobile platform. And with a guaranteed upgrade,2 you’ll know you’re always up to date with the best Android experience.

Style to last
Moto E features colorful interchangeable backs — called Motorola Shells — providing more than 20 color and design combinations to let you personalize the look of your phone.

Along with the launch of its Moto E, Motorola has also revealed an LTE variant of the popular Moto G. This lines up with our recent Amazon discovery of the device and can be purchased for only $219, but don’t worry the original $179 Moto G will still be available as well.
