‘Playbook by Google Play’ app is Google’s new resource for app devs

Alongside all of the Google I/O announcements today, Google announced a new resource for app developers in the form of the new ‘Playbook by Google Play’ app available in beta now.

A lot of the tips and tutorials that you’ll find in the app are similar to content that Google previously shared through its developer blogs and elsewhere online, including: “curated articles and videos, based on your objectives, from Google and industry experts on the web”.

In addition to showing off new products on stage today at its Google I/O opening keynote address, Google also announced a number of updates for developers behind the scenes: Google Play services 9.0, enhancements to Android Pay APIs, and new APIs for education and enterprise apps. Google saved its stage time for the new chatbot-style ‘Google Assistant‘, its Amazon Echo-like Google Home device, new Allo and Duo messaging apps, the Daydream VR platform, and Android N Developer Preview 3

Google so far only released the short video below showing the app with a link to a beta sign-up:

You can sign up for the Playbook beta now from Google Play.
