The TED Android app has received a significant update today that brings with it a host of new features and a new interface. The update is the first major redesign the TED Android app has received since it was released in 2012 and bumps it to version 3.0.

With today’s update, the app has been refreshed to be given a new, more modern look with bolder fonts and new icons throughout. There are floating play buttons, while each video is now separated into its own card. Navigation in general has also been improved, as has tablet support. In many ways, TED is now instep with the most other Android apps in terms of design.

Additionally, version 3.0 of the TED Android app includes a pair of new features. First off is support for the TED Radio Hour podcast. Android users can now listen to the podcast, which is co-produced with NPR, on-demand from right within the app.

There’s also support for finding curated playlists based on specific topics, so you can now more easily find content tailored to exactly what you want to listen to at any specific time.

The latest version of TED for Android is available on the Play Store now for free. All the features users have grown to love, including offline support and Cast support, are still there. Check it out for all those TED Talks you’ve been meaning to watch. Full changelog below:
