By all accounts the Consumer Electronics Show kicking off in the next 10 days is looking to be fairly tame. While its true there could be dozens of surprises in store, the hype thus far has been pretty timid and I don’t see many of my colleagues expecting a wild ride as has been the case in years past. That’s not to say CES won’t be filled with exciting announcements of new products by hundreds of companies all converging on Las Vegas for one week in early January.
ASUS is one of those companies whose names we always watch at shows like CES and with a new teaser video, they are catching our attention yet again. It’s a brief 22 second teaser asking “What’s your number?” as the company shows ping-pong style balls falling from the sky. Each ball is labeled with a 5, 6 or 7 likely indicating the company is planning to announce products or a new product line that falls into those size categories.
I’d love to see one of those announcements turn out to be a joint announcement with a US carrier for the arrival of the PadFone stateside. It may be wishful thinking this early in 2014, but you can’t blame a guy from hoping.
