Google announces I/O developer conference will take place June 25-26 in San Fran

Google’s Android and Chrome chief Sundar Pichai just announced the official dates for Google’s upcoming 7th annual Google I/O developer conference in San Francisco. While last year’s even took place in May, this year Google is moving up the conference to June 25-26. Pichai also noted that Google will implement a new registration system that will avoid tickets selling out within minutes like last year:

Also, quick note for those who want to join in person: this year we’re making some changes to registration, so you won’t need to scramble the second registration opens. We’ll be implementing a new system, where you can submit your interest to attend Google I/O 2014. Successful applicants will then be randomly selected and notified shortly thereafter.

At last year’s event, Google introduced us to a number of new products including the new Google Maps that just came out of preview today, conversational voice search, as well as new features for Android, Google+, and more.

Google I/O 2014 will take place at Moscone West in San Francisco, the same location as previous years, and Google confirmed it will once again live stream the event to all. Expect more details on registration next month.
