Earlier this afternoon, Google posted factory images for the latest build of Android, Android 4.4.3, and as the update starts to rollout over the next few days, we’ll definitely start to hear of some of the changes. One of the updates in Android 4.4.3 appears to be to the dialer app. The dialer interface has been refreshed to introduce some of the lighter colors and general interface qualities that we’ve seen in other Google app updates. Back in April, Google itself leaked this interface in a tweet on the Nexus account.
The update to the dialer app introduces a new color scheme of blue, black, grey, and white. The action bar at the top of the interface is now blue, whereas it was grey in previous versions of the app. These changes fit Google’s recent trend of adding color to all of its apps. We also saw leaked icons earlier this month that were more colorful.
Google has said that it’s shifting its focus back to design this year, and we expect to see some major interface changes at this year’s Google I/O conference. But for now, keep an eye out for Android 4.4.3 to hit your device or flash the images yourself.
