Hands-on with Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S 10.5 (Video)

Samsung’s latest 10-inch tablet is here, but in a slightly different size than the 10.1 Pro series tablet that was released a few months back. The larger Galaxy Tab S features a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600. This is essentially a larger version of the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and packs very similar specifications…

Much like its little brother, the Tab S 10.5 features an Exynos 5 Octacore processor (1.9 GHz quad-core and 1.3 GHz quad-core), 3GB of RAM, a 7,900mAh battery, 8-megapixel rear camera, 2.1-megapixel front facing camera, 16 or 32GB storage options, and a microSD card slot to expand storage up to 128GB.

The Tab S 10.5 is obviously larger device than the 8.4-inch model, and because of this it’s geared towards consumers with greater productivity needs. The new keyboard accessory attachments help provide more of a traditional typing experience and Side-Sync 3.0 will allow you to access a Galaxy S5 and sync calling features between the two devices.

This tablet is definitely aimed at those looking for a high-end Android tablet experience, but what will happen to the now dated Tab Pro 10.1 series? Samsung is clearly making an attempt to grab more of the tablet market share and the Tab S 10.5 and 8.4 tablets will be a solid effort. The Galaxy Tab S 10.5 is available for preorder now for $499 and will begin shipping early in July 2014.
