Acer introduces new Android-powered Iconia Tab 10, Iconia One 8 tablets

Acer may not be one the hottest brand names when it comes to Android tablets, but they’ve taken the stage alongside Samsung and Sony this morning at IFA 2014 to introduce some new tablets: Iconia Tab 10, and Iconia One 8. As you might expect, the numbers in their names represent the screen sizes they have, so we’re looking at a 10-inch device and an 8-inch device, respectively.

The former device actually sports what is technically a “zero air-gap” 10.1-inch FHD IPS LCD screen covered with what is now industry-standard Gorilla Glass. The device supports Dolby Digital 5.1 channel audio over headphones, sports a MediaTek quad-core processor, and comes running the latest version of Android, 4.4 KitKat. The device is expected to ship in the United States this month at a price starting at $199.

Check out the company’s promotional video for the device below.

The second Android tablet announced today by Acer is the smaller, 8-inch Iconia One 8. This device has a 1280 x 800 resolution screen, but its main feature is that it’s shipping in multiple colors. Don’t get excited if you reside in the United States, though, because the Iconia One 8 is only coming to Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. To satisfy your curisosity we’ve embedded the company’s promo video below.
