Mountain View’s wearable platform officially received some competition from the folks in Cupertino today and in what appears a coincidence, one of the most popular Android Wear-powered smartwatches on the market has received a temporary price cut. Google Play has shaved $50 off the LG G Watch’s asking price, bringing the high-tech wristwatch down to $180.
The quick price reduction could also be due to the fact that LG is gearing up for the release of its next smartwatch, or possibly because Motorola’s highly anticipated timepiece is now on sale. Either way, if you’re looking for a smartwatch to play with while you wait for your new G3’s extra battery to arrive, the LG G Watch is a viable option with an attractive price tag.
